Michigan Skunk Removal and Damage Control

Skunk Trapping Services in South East, MI Skunks in Michigan are recognizable with their black and white stripes. Generally skunks live under deck and porches. Skunks also dig holes and create dens underground. Skunks feast on grubs and other insects below your soil. Also skunks get into garbages scavenging for food. Skunks are near sighted animals and use their sense of smell to maneuver around. Skunks will spray an unbearable odor out their anus up to 10 feet if they feel threatened. A warning sign skunks feel threatened is by stopping their feet and raise their tail. If this happens, back away slowly

Nuisance Problems: Skunks will spray your dog or cat if they feel threatened. They also get into your garbage looking for food. Skunks are most know for digging up your lawn looking for grubs and insects.

Problem Solver: Trapping and relocating skunks works best for us. Live traps are set during the day to catch a skunk at night. Generally anything fishy like cat food or tuna will work. Often eggs and lettuce works as well.

Our Most Recent Skunk Removal Job/Story in Michigan.
We received a call about skunks living under a deck in the courtyard of a Flint, MI apartment building. We investigated the property and found the entry point of the skunks under the deck.  We set 2 live traps and over night we removed both skunks living under the deck.  To prevent the skunks from returning we installed a deck barrier by digging an 18 inch trench around the perimeter of the deck and screwing 1/4" hardware cloth to the bottom of the deck.

  • A skunk's spray is an oily liquid produced by glands under its large tail.
